"The Mindy Project" is now two weeks into the season. Week one (9/25) "The Mindy Project" weighed in with a whopping 2.4 rating, hosting 4.7 million viewers. Not too shabby, but not too fancy either. Especially, seeing how it was down 23% from "Raising Hope" which premiered in this slot on FOX last year.
DING, DING, DING!
In the Battle of 9:30pm Tuesday Night Comedy, the winner is..."The Mindy Project"! As she successfully out rated "The New Normal" her rivaling comedy show over on NBC which had 5.2 million viewers but only a 2.0 rating.
"The Mindy Project" was looking pretty bright for FOX, as she did better than their other new sitcom "Ben and Kate" which also premiered Tuesday 9/25. Now lets take a look how well "Mindy" fared in her second week (10/2).
Ouch, down 21% from the premier only bringing in 3.75 million viewers with a 1.9 rating "The Mindy Project" lost some of its hype. "Mindy" wasn't alone in the drops as both "Ben and Kate" and "Raising Hope" showed declines from their premiers. "New Girl" was the only FOX show that night that held up well. It should be interesting to see what week three rolls out, will "The Mindy Project" come out from the corner swinging and bring those ratings back up, be shaky and wobbly against the ratings ropes, or completely be KOed? Only time will tell.
On a personal note, I thought episode two of "The Mindy Project" Hiring and Firing was much more entertaining than the first Pilot. It felt more like I was watching a show rather than getting to know a show. Way more laughter and a funny plot. It defiantly made me want to tune in next week (round3) and see if episode three In The Club gets even better and stronger. I'm pulling for you "Mindy"!
Mindy! Mindy! Mindy!

I didn't watch the second episode since the pilot was awful but your blog gives me a little interest to watch episode 3 but Down Goes Mindy just had to say that.
ReplyDeleteI actually wasn't impressed with the pilot, but I was hoping it would catch on because I love her. Yet, I know it's going to lose it's spark because it doesn't have very funny content. The only show FOX has any hope for is The New Girl, clearly.
ReplyDeleteGood news for Mindy! Did you hear that it received a full-season renewal?!
